A FREE Information and Advice course is offered for WLAs or anyone interested in becoming a WLA (Workplace Learning Advocate).

What is a Workplace Learning Advocate?

Someone who is able to chat to people (informally and formally) to help them to find out what learning they could do. WLAs also help promote informal learning in their workplace.

What is the course about?

The course will help you understand:

  • what the role of a WLA involves

  • the barriers people face when it comes to learning, and how to support them to overcome these

  • how to listen and ask the right questions

  • how to conduct an information and advice interview

  • goal setting and action planning

  • signposting and referring on to other people or organisations

  • the range of advice, learning opportunities and campaigns that are available in your area

The course is accredited by OCN (Open College Network) and is offered at Level 2.

When is the course being run?

Thursday 2 February and Thursday 9 February from 9.00 a.m. until 5 p.m. on each day at Gelder Group, Tillbridge Lane, Sturton by Stow, Lincoln LN1 2DS
