EVENTS/COURSES LONDON

There are lots of free events/courses coming up in the next few months for you. You are really welcome to come yourself and you can bring along a work colleague/manager to any of the events. Have a look at what is coming up  

WLA Network Meeting on Monday 17th June from 9.30 - 11

Central London location

  • A chance for WLAs to meet each other, learn about all London WLA activities and share ideas.
  • Find out about free training/development opportunities and the Maths Champions initiative.
  • Discuss pan London funding

WLA Information & Advice Course on 23rd April and 1st May

It is accredited by Open Awards – www.openawards.org.uk at Level 2.  The course covers 4 key topics:

  • Understanding the role of a Workplace Learning Advocate and how to embed the role within your workplace
  • How to carry out interviews with colleagues to advise on learning needs
  • Understanding the key providers of information, advice and guidance
  • Developing a resource base of learning opportunities that you can use in order to promote learning in your workplace

Following the course you would be encouraged to begin to develop a learning culture in your workplace through the promotion of both informal and formal learning.

No prior knowledge or experience is needed in order to take part in either of the courses.
